Get Well Soon Wishes
Dan Evans an avid cutter and staunch supporter of the OCHA suffered from seizures on 8/2/10. As of this writing Dan is in serious condition at Mt. Carmel East in Columbus, Oh. We are informed by Temmie, Dan's wife, that his condition has been improving daily. We send our best wishes, prayers and support to Dan as well as Temmy and his family for a speedy recovery. We are sure Dan would appreciate card and wishes be sent to his home address: Dan Evans 300 Bowen Rd., Canal Winchester, Oh 43110.


The New Yearbook is born
Thanks to Janel Kennedy and all those that helped make the new Yearbook a success. If you haven't gotten one yet please pick one up at one of the shows or from one of our sponsors. We are sure you will be favorably impressed with the new publication. A new feature in the yearbook is a directory of trustees with pictures. Please use that to identify board members to answer any questions you may have while at the shows if you have not attended a cutting before.

Fall Round Up , New Additions
We invite you to join us for the Annual Fall round Up show at the University of Findlay on 8/7/10-8/8/10. We have added an amateur circuit award in honor of Dan Gilchrist. This is in addition to our previous circuit awards for each class. We look forward to seeing you all there. There are opportunities for class sponsors. OCHA and CS Cutter announce the return of the CS Buckle Class for 2010

2010 will see the return of the CS Buckle Class at all of the CS Cutting, Angling and the OCHA Fall Round-Up shows. This class was started years ago by Chuck Smith and was the pattern for the NCHA Achievement Buckle program. There will be a $55 entry fee with no money payout but points will be accumulated on finishing order. Once 10 points are earned the exhibitor will receive a trophy buckle designed by Rod’s Western Palace. The points will carry over until the exhibitor reaches the limit needed for their buckle. Any exhibitor who has never won a buckle in cutting competition is eligible for this class. Points will be awarded to the top ½ of the class with a maximum of 7 points per class available. There will be one point per two entries. (10 entries =1’st – 5 pts, 2’nd -4 pts….5th -1pt.; 20 entries= 1st-7 pts, 2’nd- 6 pts….7th thru 10th – 1 pt.). Exhibitors do not have to be the owner of the horse and a horse can be exhibited by two different riders. Once an exhibitor earns a buckle they are ineligible for the class. This is a very exciting way to introduce new cutters to our sport and gives them some immediate recognition for their accomplishments.
All points earned this year will carry over into next yesr's points for each rider. There were buckles earned this year to some very proud cutters.
